Resident Evil 2026 Movie Story
Brian, an ambulance driver, takes on a last-minute delivery job to Raccoon General Hospital in Raccoon City, Colorado, located in the snow-capped mountains. En route, he is distracted by an argument with his girlfriend, Michelle, regarding her pregnancy. He strikes a woman on the road; she is injured and in shock, so he takes her along to transport her to the hospital. A police officer named Wilson stops him, transfers the woman to his patrol car, and orders Brian to follow him to the hospital. As Brian follows, the patrol car suddenly veers off the road and crashes, killing Wilson. The woman attacks Brian; he shoots her with Wilson's service weapon but accidentally hits his own vehicle's engine, rendering it inoperable.
Brian heads to a nearby farmhouse, where he is attacked by a mutated dog. He kills the dog and finds an unloaded double-barreled shotgun inside the empty house. While searching for ammunition upstairs, he sees the same woman running toward the house before being attacked by her infected husband; Brian shoots and kills them both. Horrified, he watches as tentacles emerge from the corpses and fuse them together. Brian flees on foot along the road into a dark tunnel blocked by the wrecks of abandoned cars. Inside a camper van, he finds an infected child who mutates and bites him, forcing him to shoot the creature dead. Outside, Umbrella employees Paul and Maxine rescue him while fending off a woman who has also transformed into a grotesque amalgamation. In their vehicle, Paul explains to Brian that a laboratory accident at Umbrella a few hours earlier triggered a massive outbreak in Raccoon City, and that the shipment he is transporting contains a stabilizing agent needed to create an antidote. Paul and Maxine—who claim to have contacted the National Guard—are subsequently killed by monsters upon arriving in Raccoon City. Brian, now armed with a submachine gun, escapes through the sewer system, where he encounters a bloated, humanoid monster. Swarms of mutated rats attack him; he shoots them down and flees the sewers before the dead rats can merge together.
Brian heads on foot toward Raccoon City General Hospital, avoiding several infected individuals and noticing that they do not recover. He enters the parking garage and discovers that his bite wound is worsening. In desperation and with tears in his eyes, Brian records a farewell message for Michelle. Karl, an Umbrella scientist, contacts Brian via intercom and tells him to take the stairs up to the laboratory on the 28th floor. Exhausted, Brian opts for the elevator, only to be attacked by an acid-spitting infected creature and a monster made of corpses. He escapes them and enters a maternity ward, where he finds blood bags and infected infants. Pursued by the infected creatures, Brian flees onto a damaged skybridge connecting the buildings, where the corpse-monster reappears. He uses his last shot to open a gate leading out of the area; this causes swarms of infected creatures to attack the monster, and together they all plummet from the building and perish. He finally reaches the laboratory and hands the sample to the scientists.
While the scientists work on the antidote, Brian begins to succumb to the infection. He loses control of his body and starts killing the scientists, even as he desperately begs them for the antidote. The last survivor attempts to inject Brian with the antidote out on the skybridge but fails, dropping the syringe. Brian—now completely consumed by the infection and hideously deformed—screams loudly as National Guard helicopters train their spotlights on him.
