Scary Movie 2026 Movie Story
While teenager Tuesday Campbell watches *Horror Movie*—a parody of *Scary Movie* within the story's universe—she is attacked by Ghostface. Tuesday's older half-sister, Sarah (who is an addict), and her boyfriend, Jack Kirsch, learn that Tuesday has been hospitalized. They suspect the attack resembles the massacre committed by the original Ghostface, Doofy Gilmore, in 2000.[a] They visit Sarah's mother, Cindy Campbell; the two are estranged, and Cindy now lives in seclusion, suffering from paranoia. Cindy refuses to help, believing the killer is trying to lure her out of the house, which deeply disappoints Sarah.
Tuesday's high school friends—Brenda Meeks' children, Brad and Dee; Brad's girlfriend, Ellie; and Jayce, the son of Sheriff Greg Philip—also hear about the attack. The group is soon joined by Brenda's brother, Shorty, a heavy marijuana user. Brenda, who now calls herself "Ma," attends church with her husband, Ray Wilkins, who claims to have renounced his homosexuality.
Ghostface attacks Sarah and Jack at the hospital, but they manage to escape. They visit Doofy, who has reverted to his previous state—living with an intellectual disability. Doofy reluctantly agrees to help, and the trio heads to Brenda's house. Cindy changes her mind and shows up as well, and Brenda begins to wonder what the plot might be. They conclude that Ghostface is employing a so-called "rebootquel" strategy (a blend of reboot and sequel) by reviving legacy characters alongside new ones. Consequently, all the main characters are in danger.
Meanwhile, Ghostface kills Greg and Jay, while news reporter Gail Weathers reconnects with her ex-lover, Dewey, to exchange information. Ghostface attacks the hospital, but Sarah and Dewey come to the rescue. Ghostface kills Dewey, while Sarah reaches safety, where Cindy and Brenda save them. Later that night, Shorty smokes too much marijuana, and Ghostface hypnotizes him into a trance-like state styled after *K-Pop Demon Hunters*.
Shorty hosts a live stream during which Ghostface kills celebrity guest Kai Cenat. He also sneaks into the facility where Gail is undergoing an experimental rejuvenation treatment; he injects her with "The Stuff" before killing a duplicate version of her. Dee is heading home on the subway when Ghostface and several passengers—fed up with her liberal views—stab her to death. While Brenda hosts a Halloween party, Brad is killed in the yard. Cindy steals a car and crashes into Brenda's house, where she battles a group of Ghostface killers in a style reminiscent of *John Wick*.
It is revealed that Ghostface is actually Elle, with Jack acting as her accomplice. They explain that they intend to take over the *Scary Movie* franchise from the original cast. Four other killers appear in Ghostface costumes and kill them; these turn out to be Anthony Anderson and Shaquille O'Neal, alongside Shorty and Ray, who had orchestrated this twist ending from the start. Shorty and Ray betray and kill Anthony and Shaq, harboring a grudge against them—as well as Cindy and Brenda—for appearing in *Scary Movie 3* and *Scary Movie 4* without them. Cindy reminds them that the original *Scary Movie* quartet has reunited and urges them to give up their killing spree.
Sarah and Tuesday are excited at the prospect of becoming the new "Final Girls," proposing that they take over the lead roles in the franchise while the original cast is relegated to supporting roles. However, when they begin insulting the veterans, Cindy, Brenda, Shorty, and Ray tie them up and leave them—along with the bodies of Brad, Dee, Eli, and Jack—to burn inside the house, declaring that no one is going to take the *Scary Movie* franchise away from them.
