Exclusive: Paris and Berlin-based sales company Salaud Morisset has acquired global sales rights A little bit of lightthe new feature film by Iranian director Ali Asgari, ahead of its world premiere in competition at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
Its events take place in contemporary Iran, A little bit of light It follows a disillusioned doctor who loses faith in the future after he is arrested and his medical practice is closed. Determined to end his life, he spends one last day visiting his siblings and mother to prepare them for his departure.
A little bit of light It marks Asghari’s sixth feature, Next disappearancewhich also premiered in Venice; Until tomorrowpresented at the Berlinale; Earthly versesselected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes; Higher than acid cloudssubmitted at IDFA; and Divine ComedyWhich was shown in the Orizzonti section in Venice last year. A little bit of light It will be Asgari’s first film to be selected for the main Venice competition.
